Janspeed fitting

I wondered why my ears were ringing this weekend then I saw this post!

Some info - I didnt have to buy any other parts for the Janspeed to get fitted e.g. didnt buy any clamps or rubbers as far as I remember.

The Janspeed backbox will only fit a Mk1 not a Mk2 - Mk2's would need the full exhaust i.e. manifolds though I do recall an owner doing a bit of welding to get it to fit a Mk2.

I paid 275 for mine excluding VAT (i live outside EU so no VAT) direct from Janspeed, obviously DC are retailers so would be a bit higher. I had heard Janspeed wont do the exhausts directly anymore only via suppliers

I didnt know you could get rolled tips! Having said that I do like the slanted ones.

The rolled tips do cost a bit more and you can only have those done if you go direct to Janspeed

I just wanted to be a bit different to the norm :)

Thanks for all the info,

going to do it next weekend now, once I've got all the rubber mounts! Want to polish/seal it properly first too to make it easier to clean later.

bugger just seen the back boxes dont fit mk2's :( good price too compared to 700odd for quicksilvers!

think mines ready for a new exhaust its started to rattle like fook :(

Are the Phase 1 and 2 boxes different or the same as this thread seems to surgests there a differance.

Why will the Janspeed not fit a Mk 2 ?

If anybodys got an old MK 2 back box I want to play about with the internals to se if I can improve them.

a few beer tokens on offer plus cost of the post

Cheers

Steve
