You'll just need the first pair of cats to a ph2 and swap them over.

Hi Brett, Ph 2 cats are like rocking horse sh*t. if you see any let me know.

Craig. I can get the original Janspeed or mine for the ph2, I could probably get the flange to match your car but the welding you would have to outsource. I am due a visit to Janspeed I will ask the right questions but I know that it will cost.

That's great thanks mate :approve:

Or enlarge the bolt holes slightly on the janspeed exhaust and will match up to the two bolts on the phase 1 cat down pipes.

I have one Janspeed exhaust ready to go, Pm me if you are interested, same price £550 plus post, usually £28.
Again I do not know how long I can keep this price as low as it is.
This one has appeared as another buyer has had commitments to deal with and is prepared to wait.

Spike, I will take it - will call you for payment details.

Hi Spike,

I'd like a janspeed back box for my ph2 please.

What sort of time scale will I be looking at?

Thanks

George

George, have sent you a PM.
Sadly it looks like the janspeed exhaust saga is coming to a close, recent talks have not had positive results on both sides, we both are too busy to deal with this properly so it looks like this will be the last order.
I have convinced them for one last push and have been promised for Christmas time, whilst this is good I am away for most of December with a hectic schedule thereafter so will not be in a position to chase them as much as usual.
If you want one get in touch and I will do my best.
Thanks again for all your support over the last 5 years.

Hi Spike

Do you have anymore exhausts? I'm just going to bite the bullet & get one & make it fit my ph1, that's if you can still get hold of them?

Hi Spike,
Appreciate i am coming to this party late but wondered if you have any of your exhausts for my phase 2 or if there were any plans to get another batch made?
Given how good these sound I can't imagine there are any lying around unused in folks garages, but if anyone has one please shout. Thanks David

Hi, situation is as follows on janspeed exhausts.
I need orders for bulk purchase, and by that i mean a minimum of six. the door is still open but i am not in a position to finance these as there is very low demand and they have to be ordered cash upfront or the price goes stupid, remember these are hand made exhausts. as i have said to others that want one of these get together and place an order with me and i will do my best on a price.
SPIKE.

Just an addition to the above post, i am still happy to collate this and also wish to squash any rumours that janspeed are not trading, their throughput is through the roof which is why it is so difficult to get these done now.

Spoke to Orbisoud last year.

Back box made to order......iro £1200.

Ouch! [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Hello children, Nice to get another mention.

Now i'm not blowing the trumpet for Orbisoud but £1200 is a very good price and very realistic when you consider that their product like mine was/is all hand made, no robbie the robot here. also look at the increase in the raw material prices , particularly mid grade stainless, Simon, tell everyone how cheap metals are at the mo!
I have just bought a system from Borla for a Mustang and was happy to pay £1800 for the system and same again for the headers and cats, it does make you cough but thats life, of course all these cars are cheap rubbish so who would put a £1200 exhaust on a £2k car! see my point!

Now , where we are at: Janspeed will NOT entertain any calls on this from anyone else. Period. Please do not ring or pester Janspeed on this matter or it could F**k the deal right up. I have spoke to them and they are discussing if it is something they want to get involved in as their business has got very corporate and i do not fit their client profile or have the correct paperwork to be a customer of Janspeed, times have changed! to purchase a number of items from them i have to show due dilligence as do they, this i cannot get involved in if they now need me to do so, the company is now multi million not just a performance exhaust seller they were 10 years ago.
But lets see what is said in the next couple of weeks.

As for price being £550 this does seem to me to be about right when this first kicked off. Trust me, it wont be now! prices are up, blame Brexit if you feel it helps.

If Janspeed do not want to do this i will have to get hold of the jigs which i am assured are still in the shed with all the other jigs they have , they are going to dig them out, this is not a problem as they are owned by myself as i paid up front for them. now i do have an option for someone else to get these made, it is someone that i trust to do the job to a good enough standard and deal with the sales, I cannot give any idea on price whoever makes them but trust me the price will be right, as i said i can see where the £1200 quote comes from as they are very labour intensive.

Keep the chatter on these active as you will need numbers, i will do my best whichever way it goes but a question that i have to ask is which is the better exhaust . mine or the orbisoud, or was it my lower price that kept the interest in these?

On a similar note, i was in the process of making some primary cat pipes with sport cats in place that would pass the MOT, remember that pain in the ass paperwork?
if this has any interest maybe this could be done at the same time as the cat removal/ replacement does liberate good power at cheap cost, also all the stock cats have a good age on them now and there is nothing to my knowledge available as an option when the cats fail.

I will keep you posted and will copy this post on the original exhaust thread, it will be at least a week before i have any news so please dont bombard me with pm's.

Au revoir les enfants.

I would be interested in getting primary cat pipes with sports cats that gets through the MOT........do you have rough numbers; minimum order and price?

Sorry Dulan , nothing. all i did was get together a collection of primary cat pipes so these could be converted, problem is they are all good from real low miles cars and i am reluctant to cut them up due to their value. I was hoping someone would need a pair and do me an exchange but i dont think there are any failures yet.

Understood, thanks for the clarification Spike.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just wanted to note my interest in joining a group buy for sports cats and/or a janspeed/ equiv sports exhaust. Thanks, Andy.

Tricky topic... (apologies because I’m committing most of this from memory)... K-Tec used to supply a Janspeed Ph1 system with sports cats but it triggered the engine-management light. (So nobody could quite understand how these sports carts were advantageous over a straight-through pipe).

Spike’s Ph2 back box was the happy fix for sonorous perfection. At this point, many had given up pressing for Ph2 sports cats... mostly because the fear of engine light hassle and significant cost of minimal performance gain. This also coincided with prices hardening for OEM kitted Ph2 examples.

Therefore, a group buy would be difficult to organise... but developing a pattern and selling individual licenses could be a useful exercise.
