Custom might end up sounding crap though nas, always the risk and you never known until its built

Unless you keep the spike and go full decat

True a few options available. But thats all for the future to think about. Plan to have a good summer with the vee and get to a lot more meets than last year.

Saturday was spent installing the new 'Spike system', with alot of help from mechanic brother.

Bumper removed.
Old secondary cats removed - few studs needed a bit of help..
Spikes decat pipes bolted on nice and reused square gaskets + paste.
new powerflex hangers in place and the moment of truth with all aftermarket exhausts - how will it line up?
Perfectly! last bolt needed a little tap, but all in all went together 'as bro said' better than OEM.
Oval gaskets sourced from Euro car parts (256-789)
Bumper installed and pipes were central and straight in bumper, abeit one pipe seems to extend a little more than the other, but this can be adjusted from hangers another day.

Turn of key = WOW  [smilie=icon_eek.gif] 8) - A crowd soon gathered in the garage! everyone with great praise!

It sounds incredible, best money ive spent! Round town and below 3.5k its just a bit more than standard, but open the tap and she sounds glorious. A raspy note with fun to be had with lift off pops and burbles. :race:

BIG [smilie=thanks.gif] to Spike for all his hard work. Highly recommended upgrade.

Sorry if this is an old question. What is the difference in weight between OEM and and this beauty. Was hoping to loose a few pounds on the backside :)

I only had a brief spin in the car with it on but it sounded good. Doesnt seem any different on idle but once the loud pedal is planted its a whole different ball game. Getting mine fitted next week and was planning on doing a before and after vid for people to hear. :)

Iain's video still sounds amazing to me! So glad I got one of these, I haven't heard mine since september though [smilie=doubt.gif]

Got mine fitted yesterday and was like a kid on the way home looking for tunnels and underpasses to make some noise. Really good it is quiet on idle and could not believe how good it sounded as Scott drove down the road for the road test. Roll on the weekend for some more music to my ears :) Well done Spike.
