Is there an adapter kit to mount 225 brakes on my 19 16v?

Do the Megane discs come in 4 x 100 PCD though? If so then I suppose it would be a case of having some custom-made. At least then you'd have a pattern and it could make you some money down the line if anybody wanted to go the same route.

5 GTT big brake kits are worth a look, the Hi-Spec 325mm setup I'm running on the 19 V6 were originally meant to go on a 5....

The megane discs come in 5 stud but I don't think it would be that hard to find a 300-325mm 4x100 disc out there possibly?

Cheers for that Ben where did you buy them from and how much were they?

I came by those brakes second hand from Chet, try having a sniff round the 5GT forums and see what you can dig up.

Need to get right thickness as well if you're looking at other discs, but if that chap used Megane calipers and Fiat discs, no reason why you couldn't do the same, the only difference will be the bracket, but that would have to be custom anyway?

To be honest I need to look at doing something similar with the rears on mine to balance the fronts; I can just see the 19 going arse over tit at the first sign of a hard stop!

Yeah that would be a possibility just depends how big the centrebore and what the off set of the disc would be on the Fiat?

As for the 300mm x 24mm Senic discs, I don't think 4mm difference in overall thickness between them and the megane 225 312mm x 28mm discs would make any difference when on the car (hopefully). I believe the pistons on the calipers would have more than enough travel to compensate for the difference.

I would have to keep an eye on the pad/disc wear just to make sure though, don't fancy a piston popping out :D.

Get a set of Brembo's on the rear ;)

Any centre bore could be opened out if it was too small, if it was too big it would be held true by the wheel... a bit of a faff around but no different to those cars where no replacement locating screw is supplied on a new brake disc.

Yeah I'm sure Brembo's on the back would be an idea, but rear brakes I believe are same caliper as on Pug GTi's, hence why I keep my eye out occassionally on any upgrades out there for the 205 etc.

You can fit brembo calipers form a Peugeot 406 v6 coupe without any adapters on a 19 16v, easy fix :-)
Do not forget to also upgrade your main brake cylinder to bigger one and replace the brake hoses with goodridge hoses.

I noticed them you know... there are plenty of 406 v6 calipers about on ebay. Do the mounting holes line up perfect? What disc would I have to run?

cheers Phase II (y)

EDIT: Just found out the 406 v6 runs a 305 x 28mm disc the senic disc will fit perfectly providing the 406 caliper is a direct fit :)
