Is it me or...

I very nearly bought one instead of the Boxster but that was another itch I wanted to scratch first so the v6 got sidelined...however, I'm thinking about the v6 again now but wouldn't pay anywhere close to £20K because whilst I think they look great I would much rather have something brand new for not much extra along the lines of the astra vxr, focus rs/st, megane rs etc etc. Time will tell what path I choose but one thing's for sure...I love the look of the ph1s and ph2s!

Something brand new that will depreciate like a rock hitting the bottom of a lake. New cars just don't cut it for me anymore.

Fair point but I see depreciation as being par for the course with all but the rarest of cars...the selling points for me in terms of new cars is the handling/dynamics and mod cons...take the megane RS - doesn;t have the wow factor for me in terms of looks but rapid nonetheless and an excellent drive whilst providing all the mod cons if you so desire.

If its rapid, excellent drive, all the mod cons etc the the vee prob isn't for you in all honesty. :approve:

I bought my vee 2008 in Hong Kong for 6k gbp, and only 12k miles on the clock!

Car was and still is immaculate at 33k miles but been Renault which isnt a popular brand here and only two seats no one wanted to buy it so I got a trade deal :)

Have upgraded to kws mk2 box recaros janspeed which makes a big difference IMHO cos what I spend on upgrades I saved on how much the car cost originally

Prices have gone up recently here too though and although only 10 or so left on the road there's normally 1-2 for sale but last few months none are available plus prices were nearer the 10k mark

So people are catching on - always wondered about those guys on Dominique (?!) apparently a few vees laid up there could be cheap investments :)

The sudden increase in interest for the Clio V6 is certainly apparent.

This is quite obvious when you check out Google's search stats:
When I checked a few mins. ago the term "Clio V6" had been searched 40,500 times worldwide and 5,400 times "locally", meaning in the UK - these are monthly figures!

Obviously this is all relative since there are no "before" stats to compare with, but as they say it looks like "the future is bright" :salut:
