Interesting spec'd ph2

[v6]368[/v6]
Once belonged to forum user called ray. He had all the mods done to it.
Last known owner was in N. Ireland Mark

Awesome motor at a good price but the exhaust/rear bumper aesthetics are seriously questionable [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Ah Rays car :approve:

Whilst we didn't see eye to eye on many occasions he was pretty meticulous with his cars and modifications as was Tim. I know Kett owns Tims old car and I would have been happy to own either of them. In fact I seriously considered buying Tim and Rays car when they were for sale previously

Not the greatest example, I walked away a couple of years ago, too heavily messed with and no apparent logic behind what had been done?

Been for a ride in the car when Ray had it and it was rapid!!!! Not sure what BHP he got out of it but it felt a lot more than standard.
Look wise it had quesionable mods back then with the rather large carbon splitter and spoiler.

Splitter and spoiler off, bulkhead in when i saw it, heads and cams modded, I believe spacered plenum and a fair bit of matching up, heads have been on and off several times according to the bills with it, outside in a car park on the seafront at Cleethorpes, not ideal long term storage, number plate is good though!

Well here's another chance Martin! ;)

You know Shaun if I was looking for a Vee again I would seriously consider it again, good price/mileage and known history of the work done - upto the point it went off the radar anyway. The add implies it's been well maintained since.

Not to everyone's taste Simon but Ray and Tim certainly didn't follow the crowd and so did their own thing and so these cars are individual but lots of money spent, research done and well maintained; not to mention the performance.

The rear does look rather a mess, but the list of mods seem quite extensive, which must have cost quite a bit.

However, no mention of the gearbox and/or drivetrain being beefed up to handle the power upgrade. As such, can all that power be used without any reliability issues?

To be fair - the power gains are modest and certainly wouldn't cross the 'magic 300bhp' threshold which theoretically spells disaster for the gearbox (assuming the power/torque curve remains linear).
The gain is probably more noticeable in my 'similarly specced' Ph1 because it's moderately lighter. I'm hoping to bring it to Origine RS with track time to see what it can do - but it seems to be on back-burner at SGM with regards sourcing a Mark Fish cage...

Saw pics of this car in a bodyshop in Northamptionshire on instagram:

[album]13995[/album]

The caption was "nice little job for this week" uploaded yesterday.

no pic of the reg, but the bumper, exhaust and motec are give aways.

Looks like its had a bit of a smack! :(

not very bad, but wont be cheap to fix.

Thats being fixed just up the road from me in Kettering. If that boot is heavily twisted I wouldnt be abit suprised if there is roof damage. Nice to see it being repaired though. I wonder if its cat recorded. Theres is after all a fair few grands worth of work there.

I saw this as well. If it's not been recorded I wonder if the owner knows that his bodyshop have posted pictures of the car on the Internet!!?? Good to see it being fixed up tho.
