Just had a renewal through the post for £1350 for the clio v6, its with admiral and seems a bit steep.

Im 23, licence held for 6 years, four years no claims bonus, no accidents, no points, the car is garaged at night but is my daily and only drive, postocde is swansea, its a 255 illiad blue v6

Iv looked on moneysupermarket and confused and they are coming back with quotes ranging from £1800 to £5000 [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Any idea where else to go.

Thanks

I've just tried greenlight - they want £672 - thats £235 more than I paid last year! [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Mams just had a quote for a V6, £262.61 fully comp :approve: got the quote through comparethemarket.com she's old though lol 50 with lots of no claims bonus.

Im paying exactly £1350 for my V6 from Ady Flux and I'm 23 too. I thought that was very good for a 23 year old running around in a group 20 car. All previouse quotes were around £4500.

Done a few quotes tonight, its a few months away yet though.

Directline who I was with for yrs wanted 1300 quid lol

Bel.co.uk are 580 quid

Elephant are 514 quid

Just turned 26 (2 days ago) with 3 points, im sure greenlight will be cheaper still when the renewal comes through.

I did.....came up £2,200 quid for my last renewal.....think they were taking Class A drugs like most insurance companies....that was on 13 years NCB too....

I tried comparethemarket as well. No good for me either, a lot of companies refused to quote or they were sky high... (2k+ range) even being 31 and with many years NCB!
I'm with admiral now , they have been the best for me the last 3 years. I was with elepant before that...

Yep, know what you mean....I'm with an affiliate of Admiral too....Shiela's Wheels were the bigest joke of all, they didn't even have the Vee listed...!!! Had to call them and when I did, they quoted me £2,800 quid..!! ROFLMAO....!!!!!

I suppose for the 99.9% of female drivers in the UK, they might be okay, until of course you want to insure a "real" car.....

(always on my V6 insurance soap box too..!! )

Yeah I tried Shiela's as well and they were pants! Sounds like we probably tried all the same ones! Lol

I think 99.9% of girls drive shopping trolleys as cars - where's the fun in that though??!!

Maybe we should set up our own V6 Insurance company.....!! [smilie=bowdown.gif] Now there's a thought..... [smilie=drunken_smilie1.gif]

Brilliant idea! Lol I don't think we'd be short of customers if this site is anything to go by!!! :D
Although we refuse any that have the nasty green alloys as shown in the pics on another forum thread!! Lol

i find with admiral quotes that it helps to add an additional driver as a named driver. ie. your mother (female driven for years loads of ncb typically) can knock as much as 25%ish off quotes. seems strange i know but give it a go!

FYI Shiela's Wheels = ESure (aka. the Michael Winner show).

I'm with Quote me Happy at the moment, both parents on the policy makes a good difference in premiums. Also removing courtesy car and other useless bits and bobs can lower it.

No work today, so I did a bit of shopping around and sorted a new policy for the Vee. I'm currently with Norwich Union Direct at around £750 with a full no claims.
Greenlight quoted £623 and Swiftcover (Iggy Pop) wouldn't touch me with a bargepole!

Got it from Swinton at £354.

Some other places worth a look were:
auto direct (quoted £368), tiger.co.uk, be wiser insurance, and heritage insurance.

:)
