Insurance companies must be drunk...

So got a decent quote of £960 fully comp all mods included (if any...buckets,exhaust,lowered) on a PH2 V6 considering i am 22 not a bad quote. (Own an S15 for a year now all mods declared £807)

Now my second car used as the daily is a 106 diesel 60bhp 0-60 in 5years and a mind blowing top speed of 80mph!!! Quote with the same company....£2,300!!

Well had to question how a rare RWD sports car is a whole £1300 cheaper and has mods included than a shit heap..her reply "we don't quote good prices on average cars only more expensive rare or kit cars" explain that one :ihatpcs:

Anyways best price so far on the crappy daily is £497 with admiral.

Anyone know any better ways of insuring two cars tried multicar £2400??? Looking like a total price of £1,457 worth paying that to be a proud owner of a weekend V6 at 22yrs old?....I think so :race:

Just got a quote from admiral 700 fully comp but no mods! Just got to see how much I get refunded from my current insurance company as I paid in full and there a broker :/

I've just bought a low mileage 106 Rallye so my prices should be a guide . . .

I'm 23 with Admiral multi car and both vehicles came to £1100.70, I know I could get the Rallye cheaper but the Clio is such a good price and I'm rather lazy in that I'd rather deal with one party than insure each car separately.

That's what I was expecting Sam but....

Admiral clio v6 - £700
Admiral 106d - £497
Total = £1,197
Separate policy's

I go to do an Admiral multicar quote - £ 2,400??

But looking at things if I cancel my insurance and get 400back of the 800 i paid iv got to find £797 extra. If I stay with the one insurance I'm with now and pay the extra 160 then insure the 106d with admiral I only need to pay £657 so still saving money.

I dunno if it will be worth phoning admiral saying the two quotes and see how much they charge for the multi quote surely it should be cheaper but for me it's way more expensive :/ other problem is cancelling my one policy they take a lot of for fees and cancelling.

1) I'd guess some insurance companies target 'cherished' cars as their owners tend to be more careful = less claims.

2) If you don't do much mileage in the Vee and it's stored safely then a 'future classics' policy from someone like Hagerty could be your best option and can have the benefit of an agreed vale rather than arguing in the event of an accident.

Well the V6 will be insured with the company I'm with now paid 800 4months ago and there only willing to refund me 200!

So just need to find a cheaper company then admiral for the 106, and then next year I will insure it on a future classic policy.

Hi,
Feel free to give us a try if you like. If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.
