Other ( non boosted Renault ) Inlet & Exhaust Manifold - Non turbo Sierra/Cleon engine

Hi,
For a Phase 1 R5 (non cross-flow engine) I'm trying to work out if there are any of the OEM downdraft carb inlet manifolds that don't sit on the exhaust manifolds. So on an R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R10, R11, R12 ,R15 etc etc that uses this motor, do you know of an Inlet manifold that only touches the exhaust manifold around the studs and nowhere else?
Cheers

As far as I can tell, there's several styles of head that fit that engine. What cc is it? A mk2 1397cc head (campus or gtt)will fit anything -the blocks are all the same near enough...

It's a Mk1 R5 GTL 1108cc. But I'm not looking to change the head, just looking for an inlet manifold that doesn't get so hot through so much contact with the exhaust manifold, if that's possible.

Split the original inlet from the exhaust. The original ph1 renault 11 turbo setup is the same inlet bolted to exhaust. I simply unbolted it then cut the alloy flange back on the inlet and cleaned it up with a file, get the grinder on the top of the exhaust manifold job done.

Old Hermes and VW Derrington manifolds for 28/36 Weber or 40DCOE as fitted to R8 1108cc/1289cc should fit if you can find one. Meca Parts do a 40 manifold MP0932 but best part of £300! Worth an ask on the RCCC and RAOC fora and classifieds to see what anyone has. The hot spots and sandwich plates are there in the Renault designs to stop the carb freezing and improve fuel distribution/vapourisation though they can lead to poor hot starting when an engine has been left for a while.

Thanks R&R. I didn't know they did a non factory 28/36 manifold (didn't the 8S use that carb?). I guess they're a 'hens teeth' job :D
There isn't really the space for a sidedraft carb and the car is 100% a summer car so Carb Freezing isn't an issue.
I guess I'll end up taking the existing one off and seeing if I can trim down the touching portion to reduce the hot spot a bit...
