Immobilizer light stay off, car wont start...

HI,

The Immobilizer light on my ph1 stays off and the car just wont start.

Every time I turn the Key the motor will try to crank up the engine, but seems no fuel is being injected.

I have search around on the internet and seems it could be a UCH problem? if I get a used UCH from internet I will need to get it programmed to match the ECU right?

Any advice will be appreciated

Verify it's missing fuel first. Use some Easy-Start spray directed into the inlet as it's cranked, if it's missing fuel it should fire. If not, then it might be the spark thats missing, so you should spark test it.

UCH's are coded with the key (both the infrared locking and the transponder) and engine ECU, to change one means changing them all unless you buy a blank UCH from Renault and get it coded.....I suspect this would be prohibitively expensive.

In my opinion no adequate method for a modern EFI car. Better get yourself a OBD Tool or visit your local dealer to check engine parameters but since

it's a clear immobilizer problem. The light must blink every few seconds with active immobilizer and ignition off. At ignition on it must light up and then turn off after a short moment. When the light stays on after ignition on there is something wrong with the UCH or ECU (not so sure about this) and when blinking rapidly at ignition on the transponder is not recognised correctly (pretty sure about that). Light permanent off sounds like serious trouble or a missing connection to me...

Sad but true.

Either way: Get some guy who really knows this stuff and efficiently locates the problem (might be difficult) otherwise you are very likely to blow a lot of money on nothing.
