Immobiliser Issues

G

Guest

Hi guys.. In a bit of a pickle. I can't lock/unlock my doors to disable the immobiliser in order to start the car, it's always been a bit sketchy but always managed to get it to work in the end, but not this time.

The sunroof leaks and as the car is stripped, I think you can guess where the water ends up, right on top of the IR reciever. The keyfob has brand new batteries in it so I know it's not that, which leaves me with this dried out IR reciever, however I can't get it to lock/unlock, and it's annoying me now as I can't drive it. I'm going to have another mess about with it after work but anyone had simliar / got any suggestions?

And how about if I wanted to remove the immobiliser altogether? Is this an easy job? Really any info at all would be great!!

LOL. i got exact problem mate wih my 19, only wants to let me in when it wants.. take the fob apart and the little metel stripe needs pushin up a little..

got to your car and try to unlock it, just tap the key now and again whilst walking around the the entire car.. thats what i do and it unlocks..

Get a PHASE 1 ECU it removes the immobilser, should cost you no more than £30 quid. and its a 30 min job if you've never changed ecu's before.

Would the red light on the fob stil light up if that were the issue? And i can get in the car, i dont lock it cause of this problem! Tried the old trick of jiggling the reciever around which always worked in the past!
