Idle Control Valve Question/Theory

G

Guest

I have discovered that my ICV is shafted and finding one is proving a little difficult.

I have a theory that if i remove the ICV and block it off, I can use the idle screw on the top of the throttle body (the one that is blocked off) to set the idle speed manually. Is this a sound theory or total bull.

Any thoughts.

No works fine, i used to run the same setup.

But you will have to start the car from cold with your foot on the throttle and hold it there for about a minute before driving off, otherwise you will stall.

Why is it proving difficult to find another ISCV?

I've got a few spare in the garage and i'll bet Mat Brown has got loads!

Sorry. I dont frequent this forum so names and where to get stuff is all new to me.

mat brown or winston usually have loads of spares as do a few others..

post in the wanted sections or ask in technical..
