all 3 were previously UK cars.

the current thing seems to be to take an english v6, drive it a few hundred miles and sell on for 5k+ profit!!

its getting more common, im sure ive seen 7-8 english cars for sale in france in the last 12 months.

i kinda hope this doesnt happen too much as there will be none left over here...although this trend may increase the values of the uk ones!

It's happened with other cars as well.
Pretty much all the LHD private import Spiders (& Race cars) have gone and RHD Alpine A610s seem to be crossing the water much too often. Very few left here now.

Yeah, its a Cat-D that was originally titanium. was resprayed LY when it was repaired.

to be honest, looking at this, if the day ever comes and i have to sell (don't think it will though!) then i think i'd sell mine in France judgin by those prices. Beats having people over here think they can get one for £10k or sometihng equally silly! In my mind, these cares should be worth £15k+ all day long for a well cared for example. Appreciate peoples circumstances are different and some have to sell and take a cheeky offer but i do think the prices are too low to reflect these ultra rare beasts! I would expect to see prices appreciating again in approx 5 years as good ones become harder and harder to come by.

Don't forget these cars were also sold new at a loss to Renault so the inherent value of them was higher than their retail price in anycase - I am not unhappy that I have sold mine as I have moved onto other things, but it is great to see a shift in the Market as demand increases from overseas - certainly says a lot about the overall desirability of the cars ... IMHO this will start to diverge the 'good cars' from the 'not so good' ones, as European buyers will be keen to get the best examples ...

Well spotted Duncan. It's an interesting trend and would be useful if we could keep track of how many UK one's we're losing. If about 8 have already gone to France in the last 12 months, plus is it 2 to Australia, I was told by Renault West London that an Illiad had gone to Malta. Then there's the right-offs (meaning total and not re-shelled.)

Not so long ago the £ was a lot stronger and I had both a Golf Rallye and then an Integrale which were both imported by traders specialising in finding these bargains in Europe when they represented great value in this country.
