Yep on all UK Vees ... tho' I wouldn't expect it to be a big current draw. Reckon it sits there doing nothing much until it detects motion whilst the ignition is off.
Would expect the main alarm to system to be more of a current draw given the ultrasonics.
How old is your Vee - the original battery in my vee had to be replaced at 4 years after it got a bit sluggish to start if left for a few days.
I replaced it with a Bosch one from Costco. Not the one listed for the Clio v6, but actually the version listed for the Laguna V6 as it was a more powerful unit. Plus it only costed about £35 inc VAT and is a DIY job to change.
Just thought that I would have a look to see how long the original batteries last. As my battery has started to play up a bit I thought I would change it, amazingly mine still has its original battery on! (manufactured 20/11/04!!) and I was wondering if any one else has managed as long??
I've still got my original battery too ... 2005 registered but 2004 manufactured. It's not 100% and so in the past when I've left it over a month it's been rather sluggish to start. Gives me "an excuse" to drive it regularly, even over the Winter .
I found that a good strong battery has lasted me 4 months in the past with the car just sitting in the garage. A slightly sluggish start, but usually works!
The old one was still giving it the beans but stood for a couple of weeks and it was decidedly lack lustre, Sunday even after a couple of hours trickle charge it was having none of it in the starting department, admittedly it was around 3 Deg C and had been bloody cold, new one was like lightening and instant life so will keep the old one as a matter of pride!! It has earned its retirement doing some 'light' duties on the lead lamp!
