was pulling away from a set of traffic lights under moderate acceleration, went over a manhole in the road and the car span, it was raining heavily at the time but still wouldnt have thought that would happen

yep, is looking more likely that i will have to break it as not realistic enough to fund a repair, and to think i was only doing 20mph! lost control on a straight road to, i wasnt expecting it at all.

The more I read this, the stranger it looks to me. A bit curious, you were only doing 20mph. You hit a pole or something sideways.
I've done quite a few spins deliberately, but the car stops almost immediately at speeds up to 50km/hr, also on wet. Only on snow (skidpads) it slides for ever.

Why weren't you wearing a seatbelt ? I don't mean that you should have not survived but that is not a sensible thing to do IMHO ...

I am also glad you are OK after receiving those injuries, and I think you should have learnt a couple of serious lessons.

it was a manhole in the middle of the road which the car span immediately on, the wall was roughly 6 meters from the manhole and there was no pavement to stop the car, i agree that you should always wear a seatbelt, the scenario of my impact is the one example of when not wearing a seatbelt helps.

well only the side airbag in the seat activated because of the angle of the impact

all you can do is salvage that for parts, lucky to get 3-4k back for the bits.

cant help but say you shouldnt be driving that under 3rd party insurance but the deed has been done...

only 20mph you sure??????

Lol @ Fred.

"Yeah officer, really and truely, only 20 mate" - righto

As for the insurancing of a group 20 car, i'm not sure about not being able to have third party FF&T or not, although I did try to insure mine once for third party fire and theft only (whilst it was off the road through winter) but the insurance companies I spoke to said they wouldn't be able to do it due to its value i.e. they would not insure a car third party only if its worth more than 10k.

It's absolutely amazing every vee owner who manages to write their vees off were all traveling at 20mph [smilie=icon_eek.gif] Anyone got the number to The Guiness Book of Records?

It's only a car at the end of the day at least you're still around :approve:

like i said in my other post found a shell with no front panels has rear panels and a few bits and pieces on it comes with the engine in france so left hand drive 5thousand euros
