Looks like alot of structural work will be needed too! Very much doubt it will be worth repairing for the costs involved :(

If the insurance company haven't seen it yet, any chance a few bits of the interior could go missing? in exchange for beer tokens of course

was only 3rd party as im only 20! was a risk and have to live with the consequences, how much are new shell's? any1 else been in the same boat?

Just the body kit ripped off. Insurance wrote it off. Parts and labour estimate was £12k.

That is a real bummer mate. I think it would be cheaper to buy a new car than to repair it.

Sell all the remaining parts on ebay etc. which would get you quite a bit of cash.

You can't get new shells ... The Mk1 stopped production many years ago and am pretty sure any shells would have been known about, snapped up and used accordingly. I think your shell is completely beyond realistic repair and so you might be advised to sell it for salvage or break it yourself and fund a replacement car or buy a damaged-repairable with less damage and fix that.

You were man enough to accept the risk of 3rd party and to admit it but that was some risk you took buying a notoriously handling rear engined car, at your age (no disrespect) and insuring it 3rd party ... Judging by the impact I am guessing you spun it and sideswipred a lamp-post or tree ? You were lucky to come out of that alive and I am sure you know that - so maybe the loss of the car in the whole scheme of things is secondary ...

Good luck ...

I just thought though there is a car available on here with carburettors which was a TWR development car and needs trimming in genuine parts etc. I think it was going for cheap money so that would definately be a cheaper option for you ??? I will try and dig out the post later for you - just in case ...

yep, is looking more likely that i will have to break it as not realistic enough to fund a repair, and to think i was only doing 20mph! lost control on a straight road to, i wasnt expecting it at all.

Looks written off to me. Way to expensive to be rebuilt. Just buy mine if you want another 1? Forsale section????

I dont know what your all going on about that looks like a little pannel work and filler should do the trick.

Maybe a new door but rest be fine.

I'm sorry for you, but that's definitively beyond repair possiblities.
You would need a new shell, you could use a standard Clio, but you would need to replace several panels, which have different steelgrades, you wouldn't know off.

Can you expand any more on that Harry? Sounds like something quite interesting?

I didn't realise you could insure a group 20 vehicle 3rd party?

ive seen several shells on ebay france around 4 thousand euros i do see them on some other french sites now and again but more again than now  v6 phase one bodykits again ebay france 700 euros probally by the time you bought shell, panels paint the thing other bits you need and if you did the work yourself minimum of £8 grand plus a proper headache takin and putting together again

Sell the salvagable bits and scrap the rest.

If you sell it off as unrecorded, one of us will end up losing a car when someone nicks one and swaps ID.

should get a few grand from the bits Id be intrested in the centre consol and some engine cover parts

Gutted for you m8, that looks like a very nasty one indeed, and agree with many others here in that it would be un-repairable. Out of interest what exactly happened for you to loose it at 20mph?
