Is there any difference between a phase 1 throttle body and a ph2/3?

I've changed for 3 different units now and my accel pedal is dog**** ;)

Could be obvious but is it too many bends?!

Ive seen the cables routed in the engine bay with an S shape which makes the pedal very stiff (the economy setting lol) as opposed to one long 90 degree bend

Or maybe you're heavy right foot bent the pedal?!

I have a few tb's and cables to try if you get stuck

LOL nope I've done the 90 degree fitment, pedal is fine lol

Pedal doesnt return, if you pull the cable by the TB, the revs just climb........I'm baffled
Can anyone tell me if the TB's are different or same across the range (I know the cable assy is different btw)

Also Ollie I need that rear screen rubber, must get on n sort it with you, car should be bodyshop bound within 10days

Have you got the later one then with the black cover on the rocker cover? If so where the cable goes through there's a round plastic tube that the cable goes into I don't know if its some sort of tensioner or something??? I didn't put mine back in properly once and when I started the car it straight away went to 3 grand! Just a thought.

What spring Tony, as I remember it, the ph1 had a spring attached, the ph2 relies on the sprung mech on the TB itself

Can anyone provide photos of both pls lol

Don't forget a ph1 has the return spring on top of the rocket cover, and a ph2/3 has a much stronger spring on the throttle body. you may have to add another return spring somewhere

This. The Phase 1 setup has a very weak wound-spring around the butterfly pivot, and a return assist on the rocker cover. The Phase 2 onwards has a much stronger wound-spring on the body itself that does all the work.
If you have the TXi TB, I had the same issue, and ended up adding another spring in to the equation to return the throttle. IIRC I hooked it around the fitting on the TB then attached it down below the inlet manifold somewhere....

Thank you Mr Rabson and Mr Sibley

Anyone got a phase 2 TB they can supply until I get round to fitting 4 E36 M3 throttle bodies onto an ally plenum..........oops I said that out loud didnt I?

Glad to see someone else is trying something different with inlet ;-)

I'm looking at doin a modified 4x4 cossie inlet with a swedish style plenum it may be a massive fail but its worth a go seein as I already had them in my garage!

Already been done. I got pics somewhere. It's a cracking job as well.

I didn't think I would've been the first to try, glad someone else has had a go. Do you know what the out come was? We've mocked it up and it would look posh just don't know if it would add the ponies?!
