Hello there

That vee was for sale on Pistonheads last year & I 'Guess' was traded to them or they offer a service of selling your car for a comission-
So either or-

Its 5 owners-

You may want to check whether the belts are done ( but I Know you already know that)

That dealer has been on pistnheads with various exotica loads & loads but not to many times with Vees- so who knows-
Price - depends on belts & other perishables like brakes & tyres-

If you need belts, front disks & pads + 2 tyres- thats the thick end of 2k-

Just looking at your blog- the flamer, is that ch!ppens?

Steve

The Flamer is a lads called Jaysen, saw it in Cliosport, not the actual one, just nicked it for pic purposes.

Glad you reminded me of the blog, got a few road tests to edit and stick up

As for that V6, I'll see how the house goes, no one likes a time waster, and I really hate wasting my own time...

Hi

Have just purchased V6 phase 2, number 201, - blue - and driven home on M25 - very difficult to keep speed in check - a bit awesome at first compared to my previous 172 !
It has done just 16000 but needs cambelt as it is several years overdue. I see from the bills it had one problem at 15500 when a circlip came off the nearside driveshaft but that was sorted and it seems OK now, except slight crack round the towing hole. So a few cosmetics and refurb alloys to do then will post a pic
Can any one recommend garage for cambelt and full service in the Surrey area? BUT Would be prepared to travel a couple of counties though to get right expertise.

Welcome to v6 ownership Nick :) Where in Surrey are you based? I'm in Hampshire... and like many others here, travel to Wiltshire for Scott at SG Motorsport. Worth the trip for peice of mind alone!

Hi Shaun

Epsom area, soon to move to Reigate - 'new' car, new 'house' ?(actually grade II listed cottage!). But A3 - M25 - M3 - M4 - Swindon - Scott sounds good to me and especially looking forward to driving back after the service! Actually, Dulan has already recommended SG Motorsport so I shall get in touch tomorrow.

Thanks for your post and advice and I'll let you know how it turns out.

The search begins...

Not moved house, but need a car now. Only thing is not many come up near me (Leeds). Got a few weeks where I can cope, so if anyone knows of any nice examples of an Illiad Blue please get in touch.

Also would be good if at dealers so I can finance it, don't want to eat into my house deposit, but if needs be might get a loan if the right private car comes up (don't like tying money up in cars, always finance them)

If none come up the other car I want to own is an S1 Elise, and there's loads of specialists up here, but a V6 is first choice

Cheers

Danny

Hi

Are you still looking? I am loving mine now I am getting more confident - quite a contrast to my previous 172! have just had the wheels refurbed - a good job by The Wheel Specialist in East Grinstead. Yes for me Illiad blue is the colour, unless I could have got a liquid yellow. West Sussex cars seems to specialise in V's and I think tends to get hold of as many as possible, but I am not sure whether they act as agents for owners or buy the cars first. I saw a couple of phase 2 cars there when I was looking around and they seemed to be in good condition (but I expect someone on this site knows more about the history of specific models than I do!!).

Good luck with your search

Nick

So car is finally coming on Thursday thanks to Steve from R-Sports. Took so long as car needed to go to Scott at SG as it wasn't perfect enough for Steve to sell. All is good now and can't wait to pick it up.

Also sold the track car today to fund some Trendlines to make it perfect :D
