5 GT Turbo has anybody ever fitted a second turbo to a renault 5 gt??

wasn't twin turbo used by manufacturers mainly to get rid of lag with the turbos running sequentially rather than in parallel for big power.

Off on a tangent - the FD Rx7 guys who want to go for big power tend to install big singles rather than messing about with twins. I know it's difficult to get more than 320 hp out of stock twin turbos on the rx7 so that's about 30% HP increase max. Apply that to the GTT about 160 hp for plenty money spent even just buying the parts never mind installing it..! Just an example to reinforce my opinion-without-facts

I'm sure there must a larger turbo that will give you the power you want without huge lag. Unless you like old-school lag (I do), in which case no worries

The only reason OEMs do it on an inline engine is to try to reduce the lag. If you're after power just go for a big turbo.
Getting good flow through 2 turbos, and getting the flow balanced correctly between them, is a royal P.I.T.A.

You'd probably be better off trying to get a good VNT or twin scroll turbo set up than playing with 2 turbos.

Oem twin turbos of the past are overly complex and/or not great.
Sequential works but its mega complex.
Twin on inline6 works in the same way Twin scroll does, but these days with a decent range of turbos, a decent single Twin scroll is proven to both outspool and out power a decent pair of twins.

Saying total waste of time isn't really true though, its same as everything, suitable applications. A typical twin turbo setup is pointless on a 4cyl, n sequential is far too complex for the end result. But I think there are occasions it works out.

Single twin scroll is masively worth it, aside from theres not many (a few oem ones, nothing after market) twin scroll turbos small enough for anything other than a mental spec (400plus) C1J.
Not so bad options if fitting a 2ltr etc tho.q
