Cheers bud with this guide iv got it out in less than an hour.

Back in in a few more hopefully

NO thanks to matteh... :P

I had this printed out for reference when I did it - thanks!

I did it without taking off the steering wheel, cowl, dials etc. on the right side but it was tight getting the heater matrix stubs through.

The biggest problem I had was that there was foam padding around the old heater matrix that had disintegrated to leave the glue so it was securely stuck in its housing. Other annoyances were removing one of the original snapped (sharp and pretty strong) spring clips from the radiator hose and getting access to clips that would have been done up with the engine out.

I did it all on ramps, lying across the front seats with the handbrake poking me in the ribs! But now I'm toasty!

I'm going to be doing this with Roadie at the weekend to HOL, will report back with how difficult it is!

Tonight i'm going to remove the dash from my track car completely so this guide will help me do that pretty quickly too I hope, and will serve as a bit of practice before the weekend!

Well i removed the dash from my car completely and it probably took me about an hour to do, not difficult to be honest.

The guide was very helpful, the only thing i had to work out when trying to remove the dash is that you need to lift it up as there's a bit behind where the radio would be that hooks behind a metal bracket.

Once that was out of the way it was just a case of unplugging things and unhooking the interior loom from the dash and it came out easily enough.

Should be a lot easier to just slide it forward though as you haven't got to unplug as many things!

half way through fitting mine. just got to put it all back together now. :D

well, took me about an hour to get it all apart, had massive trouble getting the heater matrix out, was just stuck on something! finally got it out and now the new heater matrix wont go in fully! called it a night...

any ideas how to get it in fully? if doesnt feel tight fit, it can be moved about but it just wont go in that last bit...

on the new heater matrix, you have a black bit of plastic over the end that you put in first. take the plastic off so you can see the pipes on the end (small coper ones) then it should go in. that what happened with th ones on lesleys car that i did using this guide. guide is good.

yeah i did that because the old one i took out never had it on the end. thought it might be the black plastic bit stuck in the assembly but its not. really dont know!

was all going very smoothly untill this!

sorted it yesterday, the rubber bit was folded in and was stopping it from sliding in fully.

good guide! deffo helped alot

cheers!

i wish i had seen this before i started.. there was really no need to disconnect half the amout of wires etc that i have... hopefully ill connect it all back..
