Great value service from Renault.....

......lets just hope they don't change their mind when I get there. Price is £189.95 for full service including parts, labour & VAT. I told the lady on the service desk that it was a Clio. She never asked me the model and gave me this price. I then told her it was 'one of your performance models' and she told me it was the same price for all Clios. I asked her to make a note of it on my account as I thought it was a great price and didn't want it to change when I spoke to someone else. She assured me it wouldn't.

I'm tempted to supply my own oil though so they don't put cheap stuff in (or does this not make a massive difference).

Booked in Wednesday @

Sunwin Renault
113, Thornton Rd, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 2EP
Tel: 01274 736440

*Yes I'm taking my car to Bradford, it will probably get stolen!

You need to be careful here Nev ...

Glad you have a record of your agreed price cause when I have been into Renault they use this fancy computer system, key in your registration number and bring up the make and model details (obviously a Clio V6 255 in your case) with the servicing intervals and costs listed. The V6 cost is not the same as what you have been quoted it is more like £250 (for a 12k service) so you may have to debate the cost with them ??

before i got mine i went into my local renault and asked how much the cambelt was, to which i was told "£230". I asked whether the lad was sure and he said that he knew more than than i did about renault. So i said "great can i get a written quote?" at which point the service manager came out of the back mumbling something about the system had gave the wrong price and the real price was morelike £1500.

Yeah I already gave the woman my reg plate so I can argue that they had all the details they needed for an accurate price (she used the reg to look up the car to confirm it's defo a 24k/2 year service interval as she couldn't see why I was giving it it's second service at only 19k miles on a 2 and a half year old car) so I should be able to refuse to pay any more than was quoted. Hopefully for the sake of good customer service they'll just let it go.

They are doing the service whilst I wait have have said it should be done by 10.30am so I'll be the one doing the test drive after, or at the very least I'll be in the passenger seat.

Hopefully it should be fine

Done - great service by the garage, done while I waited (2 and a half hours). Service guy came ou to chat about my car afterwards and he's identified a very minor oil leak from the sump. Booked in for next week to have the sump resealed under warranty. They didn't even question the £190 all in price they quoted me. This really is their price for all Clio's.

Thats a fantastic price. Did they use genuine Renault parts? Also, did you end up supplying your own oil? I may ring them up and book mine in.

Nope they supplied the oil and even topped up my windscreen wash for free.

I'd defo recommend them - there is a small window in the showroom so can look into the service area and see them working on your car as well. A couple of the guys mentioned they aren't the eaiest car to work on which suggests they are familiar with the car.

They had a nice liquid Clio R27 & liquid Megane R26 in the showroom to pass some time as well.

Hi
The service costs for the Rnault V6 is very reasonable compared to my other car a Mercedes A160 the first service after 2 years and only 6000 miles on the clock was £659.

Hi,
You are all so lucky to be close to Renaul dealers that are able to look after your clio's so well.
I live 9 miles from Chester I spoke to the service department about a small warranty job that needs doing on the rear brakes, namely that the anti squeel shims are protruding from both calipers for a break specialist to do it would take 35 minuits to sort out but the Renault dealer said that they would require the car for the whole day because it was a long and complicated procedure to sort it out.

I got a quote of £280 for mine from my local Renault
Was gonna book it in this week so ill have to have another word with them first.
Any Chance I could have a copy of your bill for proof?

I had mine serviced by the local Renault dealer at 2 years old. It was a cheap as chips, but I'll never forgive them for the way the car was presented afterwards - it looked like they'd thrown a bucket of dirty water over it. If they do that to the exterior; Christ knows what they're did to the internals. [smilie=icon_eek.gif]
We're lucky that the Vee only needs a two year service (any decent garage could provide an interim oil change), so my advice is seek out the best people to provide this service (whether independant or dealership).

Just had mine done by Renault today
Great service & only £189 woo hoo :approve:
They tried to charge me £300 for front brake pads though........... I obviously declined their kind offer to change them for me
