Got a Clio! Pics Pics Pics!

After years of drooling over photos and videos of V6's I'm finally now the proud owner of car 246, ex club member ravydavy. Nice to have bought from within the club and from such a good bloke. Definitely made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable. Travelled all around the country looking at vees but ended up returning to Newcastle for this car. Ticked all the boxes and had one of the best service history files I've seen for any car.

Ended up flying up and driving the car back down to Bristol. Was planning on getting some more photos of the journey down but the weather was foul and I was in a bit of a rush to get back.

Absolutely love the car. Wasn't expecting it to be so good over long distances or have such a nice ride... could even be a Grand Tourer if it had more luggage space! Nothing a roof rack couldn't solve haha.

The smaller steering wheel is a nice mod that I wont be changing, although the snappy retrimmed original wheel is a work of art and almost a shame to not be seen.

Is strange having a car that doesn't need any work doing! I've no real intention of doing any changes to it, with the exception of maybe fitting an orbisound exhaust and possibly one of Simon's front bumpers to preserve the original one.

Excellent news and a great example. The novelty of catching sight of it and thinking, Wow that is mine, has never gone away for me as it really is special and as you said, having wanted one for years it has now finally happened. So congratulatons.
Oh and yes i think the suspension on the ph2 is a perfect compromise between a good ride and not too much roll. Easily the best ride of any Clio which is not what you'd expect. And if you get a mat to cover the engine you can load up with soft bags. I've done a week away for 2 people no problem.

Thanks Graeme. Yes it's something else to finally own one. I've spent longer than I care to remember deciding on my next car. The "shortlist" came down to Merc SL55 AMG, Merc E55 AMG, BMW Z3M Coupe, BMW E46 M3, BMW E39 M5, BMW Z4M Coupe, Alfa 156 GTA, TVR T350C, TVR Tamora, Porsche 996 C4S, Lotus Esprit Turbo, and the Sierra Cosworth. All great cars I'd happily own and may still do someday but all with their own compromises and when all things considered, didn't have as much overall appeal to me at this time as the mad little French pocket rocket.

On the luggage thing, have been told the front boot isn't very watertight but have some waterproof canoeing bags which could be useful for storing stuff in the front bathtub for long journeys.

Or just fit a towbar

Nice one, good example, it will be great to see another Clio v6 running around Bristol!

Thanks Inigo. Your car may have been the one i saw a few years ago. A4174 ring road heading east towards the M32 junction. Was the first one I saw on the road and what planted the seed.

You'll have to change your name now! Looks like a cracking car, and we'll have to get a South West meet going sometime. You're nice and handy for Scott to get the car serviced / looked after as well.

The name still remains fairly accurate haha. Keen on making it to Prescott this summer. Yeah very handy having SG nearby, and Leigh just over the bridge too.

That's very likely as I worked in Filton for a few years and used to take that route to the M32 often in the v6. I work in Aztec West now.

I'm very glad that mine inspired you! I believe there's another PH2 and a PH1 in Bristol but I haven't seen them for ages now.

I'll keep an eye and try to spot you!

I haven't driven mine for a couple of years as with small kids priorities change, however the odd peak under the covers make me realise why the v6, should never be sold
