Megane Glacier White Megane 250

Been a bit slow on the Megane front recently. However, the car is back on the road and getting used when the weather is decent.

Got round to replacing the battery module, ditching the home made shorting straps between modules.

Started the parts collection before I book EFI later in the year. Received a Forge recirc valve today from Engine Dynamics.

Car is also due its belts this year, so need to get in about that sooner rather than later.

Fitted the recirc valve the other night and I'm pretty happy with it. Although the supplied cap heads don't fit in the lower bolthole due to access. Just reused an original fastener for that one. Makes nice quiet muffled whooshes and chatters. Eliminates a possible weak spot when it comes to mapping.

This arrived today from Wagner Tuning. Impressed with the quality and from what I've read, its a good fit with little to no modification required. Seems to have no reported issues with limiting airflow to the radiator unlike some other brands.

My twingo runs blanked off with a big cone. Choo choo choo noises all day long. Way better than a dump, tshhhhh

Blanking plate wont cause any issues with the 15t even when mapped. Ran one for years no issues, Kangoo has one on with 22psi boost 20t hybrid, compressor surge sounds epic with 11blade billet wheel.

Wagner intercooler is reported as good and no cooling issues, prob best all rounder.

Tackled the intercooler this morning and in truth there wasn't much to tackle. Lined up on the OE plastic mounts, straight onto the inlet/outlet pipes and the two wagner brackets lined up to existing lugs on the front impact bar. Really pleased with the fitment, neat as a pin.

Had to trim some of the cowling that sat around the original cooler which was expected. But I think I'll come back to it at some stage and attach some rubber sheeting so that it's neat round the cooler elbows.

Whilst I had the wheels off, I gave the coilovers a clean and a coat of ACF50.

Been a fairly quiet summer with the Megane. It's been getting used a fair bit which has been good but as the weather has turned in the last fortnight and the gritters out in force, I'm going to stick it away for the winter.

The belts are due so I've placed a RPD order for almost everything required. Cambelt kits are out of stock, so I've still to source one.

A mate of mine has recently bought the OE tooling for the job which is handy.

Long term plans for next year are to get it to EFI for a map with bigger injectors. Get a couple of track evenings under my belt at Knockhill in prep for a Spa/Ring trip in the late summer.
