Guys, does anyone know where I can get a setting shim for a JB3 gearbox? I had to use a different case when restoring and need to re-shim it! Apparently!! Thanks

Yeah, I stripped and rebuilt it, but I messed up and decided that cleaning an aluminium case in caustic was a good idea! I then couldn’t get the caustic staining off so sent it to vapour blast. When I went to put it back together the bearing holes and oil seal holes had all grown I had to switch the case, out! I got that case vapour blasted, put it back together tested it before fully tightening the two case together and it works fine, as soon as I torque the cases up, I can’t get 4th gear at all!
I'm not familiar with the gearbox but do the shims sit behind the bearing race? There are some generic shims available at www.bearingkits.co.uk that might suit?
I guess finding out what is under tension and by how much it needs adjusted is the tricky bit?
