gearbox removal

can the gear box be removed with the engine left in place how easy and how long a job is it i have access to post ramp so can get underneath easy going to start doing a lot more myself think gearbox is knacked

From reading previous posts, Renault book time is 5.7 hours for removal.

thanks james i have a manual just looking for a heads up from some of the members on how easy it is 5 hours removal time that means i will be able to do it in 3 then

Is piss easy mate even with the engine in situ. Took me the best part of an hour and a half to remove and the same to put back. I used 2.5 ft axlestands and managed fine. I made my life hard by damaging the flywheel posistioning sensor which could be easily missed.......I blame the 5 bottles of Bulmers on that though lol Any trouble, give us a shout fella.
