there is a post about unreliable gearboxes thats active at the mo, and not wanting to just sit back decided to make a few enquires as to reliable rebuilds and what is the problem. i had a chat with a couple of guys that have a lot of experience with bike gearboxes and asked if they would take a look. basic answer is yes but not right now as we are in the middle of a race season, when thats over, no problem.
so, i am looking to buy a ph2 gearbox thats seen better days, i dont want one thats broke in half but one thats noisy but serviceable. i am prepared to pay the going rate, whatever that is and will cover costs on parts etc myself, with a hope to finding whats wrong with these and organising someone to repair these at a reasonable price if it can be done, also if there are any mods that can be done in the process these will be looked into, like uprated bearings etc.
so, what price is a reasonable price and has anyone got one?
