Fuel Pump Electrical

G

Guest

Hey,

My car has bein braking down all night, it has been blowning fuses. The fuse is the one at the top in the middle under the bonnet cant mind what the sign was but i think its something to do with the engine getting fuel as the fuel pump is not priming. any way i changed the fuse like 3 times the nyt, and on the fourth fuse i put in and it did not make the pump prime. I have checked ground cables and other fuses. I have ran out of optitions. HELP!!

I have now tried changing the relays and still nothing. I have check the power voltage and its sitting at 12v, which is good but none of the fuel pump wires are getting power,if i connect pins 3 and five on the relay as autodata said so, the fuel pump conently pumps!,

When the relay is on there is no life, onlly through hardwiring the fuel pump will do its job,

i am open to any and all suggestions

If it beens blowing fuses quite alot it must be doing it for some reason, i.e there could well be a short in the wiring somewhere which has cooked one of the wires to the fuel pump. This happened on my mates rs turbo and i had to go through and rewire shit loads of the wiring loom to get it to work again.
id suggest you undo the fusebox and have a look to see if you can find any burnt out wires, other than that im as stumped as you mate.

hope this helps

alex

also unplug the pump and test the wiring to make sure the pumps not shorting it.
