Fuel pump cradle

LH16v

Active Member
Remove and replaced a fuel pump on a ph2 R19 16v however in my haste to get the pump back in and the car back on the road I have managed to snap off 3 of the metal clips that hold the cradle onto the plastic washer thing. As a result I dont think the pump is sitting correctly.

There are only 2 clips holding it in place.

I was thinking about using a sealant around the top of the cradle to hold it in place. Any suggestions?

why not just fit the ring as usual then tap the edges over to hold the ring tight in place.

Thanks. I was thinking about doing that but does it need to be air tight? Won't petrol spill out over the top of the tank when the car is moving?
