Formula Ford Festival Result! :-)

Thought some on here might be interested. My big bro came 3rd in the Formula Ford Festival (for Zetec cars)!

"The Zetec Final was probably the closest of the three. 2008 Zetec winner Neil Tofts was on pole in his Mygale SJ04 but had to surrender the lead to young Finnish driver Sebastian Nummi on lap 3. The Finn looked like he might get away but Tofts used all his Brands Hatch experience to reel Nummi back in and re-take the lead on lap 12 of the 20 lap final. Once ahead, Tofts defended his position stoutly to take back-to-back Zetec titles. John Whitbourn from Burgess Hill took third with an impressive drive"

Good one Peter, Great memories of the festival in the past, shame it doesnt get the coverage it used to, i guess the Kent, Duratec and Zetec thing doesnt help its cause along with the proliferation of junior formulas these days.

It will all be on sky at some point apparently. He did post race interviews and everything! LOL

I agree having 3 classes does not help! Old Skool Kent will always be where its at IMO. I guess my bro doesn't agree tho.

F1 should take note. Mechanical grip only ensures lots of close racing and overtaking! If you have ever seen a festival race it makes F1 look frankly boring. Fast, and impressive, but ultimately boring. I'd bet there was more overtaking in one lap of the festival than a whole GP! But well done Jenson & Mark anyway! [smilie=icon_cheers.gif]

The story goes that Senna was so worried about being beaten (by Tommy Bryne) in the festival that he actually retired from racing rather than show up and lose out....and then promptly resumed his career the following year.

Ooh controvertial! I'm sure the Senna fans would have something to say about that!
