fenix megasquirt ecu

Wow...550 Euro...thats expensive for MS and it still needs mapping. I'd buy an Adaptronic unit for that money, we have several wired up now and with starter maps too, and it has WAY more features and functionality than a MS.

I like the fact it says it ready to plug in play, 2 min job to fit and I can carry on driving till I have time to map it.

My 21 is my daily driver, the real goodies go on my week end toy. So I am not looking to break any power records just well mapped highish 200s.

How much work required to fit adaptronic can it use a non-cat flywheel?

I had megasquirt on my car and it was fine. But I had to build a new engine loom and I used Ford ignition and sensors etc, but this looks much better.

When you say just plug and play, it depends if it has a standard 21 turbo map on it already, or just a base map or if it has any map at all.

You need to be asking them exactly what it comes with, and if they can put a map on it ready for your car. Check to see if European maps are the same as GB.

If they can, it seems very good deal. There are lots of forums about megasquirt to help.

Make sure to find someone very good at mapping before you install would be my advice.

Yeah some good advice there Craig, thanks. This is a google translate of the description,

This calculator Plug and Play allows to equip your Renault 21 Turbo 2.0 (catalyzed or uncatalyzed) a programmable calculator injection without further modification. Designed and produced by FenixEcu.com, you just remove your original computer and connect this model instead. Turn the ignition key and roll.

Already have several lambda sensors, will need to ask about GB compatibility although can't imagine there would be any issue, I can do all the mapping myself but only have a 2wd dyno in work tho :(
