Exhaust fitting in Scotland.

I like the look of the K-Tec sports back box, and the BMC CDA air filter, but does anyone know if I can get these installed anywhere in Scotland, preferably, near Fife? I could probably fit the air filter, but not the back box.

Also, will these mods increase insurance by a lot? I’m with Admiral, not even sure if they will allow mods.

K-tec is just too far away for me.

Any exhaust place will do it. I fitted my Ktec myself on my mates ramp. You dont need to remove the bumber just carefully slide it in. Old ones clamps are a right pain then you need to line the Ktec one up. My tail pipes were slightly off so I waited until the exhaust was hot and helped it into place with a bar inside the pipe.

To be honest would the insurance folk know it was aftermarket? - Some mk1's came with stainless steel boxes as an option so you could just say it was a factory option.

Air filter you will be able to do and exhaust is honestly not to bad (take it it's just the back box and not full system)

Yeah, just the back box. The full exhaust system does look tempting but its also quite a bit more money. :)

Can you get regular garages like kwik fit to do it?

Fairly dumb question but I have never had mods done to a car before.

Yep even Kwik fit can do it!!
Only problem I had was the mesh got a little pushed out of shape, Just pushed it back in and jobs a good one.

I would show up on a Sunday and ask them to do it as if you phone and say clio V6 they will no doubt think of silly money without seeing what an easy job it is.

Just make sure they seal the clamps up as they leak here and take a bit of sorting to seal. Exhaust places should be doing this sort of thing everyday so you shouldnt have any problems!!

Ktec is a good exhaust - you wont notice much difference inside the car but sounds superb outside ;)

admiral will charge bout £75 extra, give or take a few quid for an exhaust and air filter, what a rip off..............insurance huh................grumble

i changed mine myself a week or so ago, but i took the bumper off to make it easier. the exhaust change was a piece of piss, the bumper was a bit of a nightmare (finding all the bolts) though!
