Exhaust de-cat

Hi
I've taken the exhaust system off my v6 mk1 and was wondering is it worth de-cating the system? I have no reason to de-cat other than the system is out on the garage floor and maybe save on future problems. If I was to de-cat what would happen to the sensors and most importantly the noise? Thanks.

Noise goes up and sensors go mad...
...and small puppies will die from the carbon monoxide poisoning.

However, noise is not a bad thing, performance gains might be noticeable, the warning light can be switched with an OBD reader and the deletion will encourage you to become best friends with an MOT station proprietor.
