Exhaust and Pipercross filter

Is it safe?

I know some cars can get really upset and even result in engines blowing up when you start changing airfilters and exhausts.

Also there was on the news the other day about Super Unleaded petrol being a bit of a scam and not really providing any gains, is this true and is the vee ok to run on 95ron with out causing any adverse effects?

I know the sccoby is very sensitive to petrol used and when you start changing stuff on it they can get upset, obviously the vee isnt as highly tuned and the engine is not as complicated as a scooby.

I thinking firstly if it did start to upset you'd get the engine management light before any issues occured.

I've no issues running my aftermarket filter and exhaust and haven't seen anyone else have any.

Only thing that was flagged was the Janspeed full system occasionally brings on the management light but still no long term issues.

My Supra hates even BP 97 RON but then it's import and tuned and in Japan I think they've been using 99+ RON since mid 90's, I don't think the Vee will be quiet as fussy but I always stick to Shell V-Power or Tesco 99 RON

Thanks for the input Andy.

Do you find that 99RON gives you any power gains? I know it burns better and has more additives to keep fuel injectors clean compared to 95RON

Just trying to work out if its worth spending the extra few pence per ltr on "super unleaded" petrol or not.

Has anyone had a chace to try BPs Ultimate 102 unleaded petrol? Its only available in a few stations at the moment i believe.

You'll only get more power from if your car is mapped for it. I use it religously anyway as it's cleaner and better for avoiding knock and detonation even tho should never get that only factory setup car.

Also don't be fooled into thinking it's got a RON rating of 102 as i've been informed many a time it's only 97.

Exhaust and airfilter is a safe change to make in reality.

As for 95 vs 98 ron well my personal experience from using the car on track days with data logging is that it made no difference to my lap times, 98 actually gave reduced number of laps and cost more.

Your mileage (mine certainly did!) may vary...

I only use the premium fuel as regardless or it giving better performance it's proven to be cleaner.

I doubt i'd feel or notice any power increase.

intresting v6max, i guess then to use it for additives it has and purity rather than performance gains.
