engine light on after coil fail

had a coil go at the weekend and the "engine" light on the dash came on (flashing first then constant) ......changed coil but light still on ...... will it go off/reset if I disconnect battery? is first question please.

Yes. I done this on Sunday after a coil went.

yes james I see that in the "how to change a coil" advice . ive done about 25 today and its still on so ill wait and see cheers .
next question is if/when I disconnect the battery ,ill need to re set radio code there are no instructions on this in the book . There is a no 8 in the code for mine but only up to six on the radio.......basically how do I reset radio code if I may ask ............................cheers

How are you entering the digits? Via the head unit? If so, this is wrong you need to scroll through the numbers using the thumb wheel on the steering column stalk and then select with the rear button on the stalk, which then moves onto the next digit and so on.

Once it's all in, a long press on the rear button will enter it.......

FYI .............. light didn't go out after dis connecting and then reconnecting battery .......BUT it did go out on its own after 40 odd mile (as per James s post ) ...............cheers
