As the sensors tend to become permanently bonded to the holes in which they fit, I was considering enlarging the hole by 0.5mm.
Hopefully this would prevent sensor removal being a destory the hub/sensor issue in the future.
Yes, If it rattles or vibrates around it'll confuse it, or break it.
TBH once theyre out (Rather the old ones are smashed out lol) and you grease them up when you put em in theyll be ok. I greased and refitted one over 4 years ago, and removed it by hand about 2 weekends ago. If you give it a wiggle say, every time you change the brake pads you'll be just dandy.
The sensor is a coil of wire with an iron core which when energised produces a magnetic field, the teeth on the target wheel interupt this magnetic field causing a small electrical current to be induced in the coil.
I am guessing that as stainless steels are less magnetic and some are non-magnetic that they would not induce this current in the coil of the abs sensor.
I know that some stainless steels are nonmagnetic but you can get types that are magnetic, however I'm unsure wether this is enough for them to be suitable as target wheels for abs.
