Door lock Actuator

I have a non working actuator in a rear drivers side door of an R19 saloon, I also have a fully functioning one in a cabby drivers side door, heres what i need to know. The two units are quite different as the saloon has the child look etc, what im wondering is can the actuator alone be removed from the cabby door lock and all the bits and bobs from the saloon door be transferred on to it to make a complete functioning saloon door lock mechanism?

problem here is theres a 5 pin going into the actuator on the donor only 2 pin plug on the saloon one, this prob wont be a major issue if i can pick the correct pins i guess

That'd be great yeah, the one has started working on the car now but it fails intermittently which is a bit of a hassle to keep checking if the doors are locked, cheers mate

had a similar problem wit the e/w on the supervan.id press the switch to let it up or down and it would either stop and start or just not work.a good bang on the door panel used to sort it.turned out to be a loose connection inside the motor.i just jiggled the connector until the window worked properly and cable tied the wiring in a position that the connector wouldnt move.works 100% now.

I had the door card off, didn't seem as though it were a loose connection in my case, think the actuator is just a little lazy is all, banging and cable ties is pretty much how I builkt the van clio, I kid you not

The 5 pin actuator is for the drivers door and allows the central locking to work from the key in the door, i.e. unlock the drivers door with the key the rest will unlock.

2 pin one will work fine it just won't work the central locking from the door lock.

As an aside they always get lazy and struggle with age. Cleaning up and lube helps.

Make sure to pull the boot out at the hinge end separate the plug and see how corroded it is.

the plug looked quite minty, a cleaned and lubed it and it was still acting the jinnet but over the last week or so its began working again every time would you believe
