Dephaser

[album]13668[/album]

Finally off for dephaser work! Never thought this day would come!

Has anyone had any luck with a solution other than Peugeot part?

I did a random web search and it is also a Dacia and Fiat part using Renaults part number.

LINK

Has anyone tried ordering one of these? There's mixed reviews of the supplier online, but if they're genuine at this price they must be worth a look?

Yes i tried it about 2 month ago.

What milages are people getting Dephaser noises at? Mine are silent.. 2003 car with 26k miles.

Is it a luck thing or do they generally start knocking at certain milages?

I've had that knocking noise very briefly twice but a rev has cleared it. The rattle is just on start up for a second, sounds like a cold top end for second or two.

Mine did it just after purchasing and it had 48k on it.

The car's going into SGM in Feb and I'm looking for another solution to the problem, as £1k for two new dephasers is quite frankly ridiculous.

Does anybody know the Peugeot part number for these (I presume it's different to the Renault PN)?

I have a mate that works at Peugeot so I'm going to do some digging...

More questions :)

According to Wikipedia the ES9 (PSA) engine is the L7X (Renault) engine. So I presume the specific engine as listed in Peugeots parts DB is the 407 3.0i V6 24V 211 (ES9A) engine as below, or am I confused (likely)?

FYI, just heard from SGM. Scott has just completed his first dephaser change with Peugeot part and all went perfectly and more are being booked in.
Mine is on the ramp as I write..

Might be worth noting that Peugeot apparantly only have 20 left??

anyone know the price? probably around 400gbp?

is it the same for laguna 3.0 v6, 607 3.0 v6, 406 coupe, avantime, citroen c5 3.0?

For those wondering about the cost gamble, I have been out in the the above mentioned car with the new peugeot dephasers and its completely cured the rattle. The car sounds perfect again. :approve:

do you only need to change this element (no.6) ?

ps. i was told that above part no. 6 costs ONLY 30GBP! ?!?

Looks like the Peugeot dephaser comes complete as a unit with the inlet camshaft pulley, #13 on diagram, part no. 0805F9. Is this the case?

When mine are changed, I will happily leave them with Scott at SGM for anyone to check or use for reconditioning..
I would say that over the course of all investigations, reconditioning was never proposed by Renault, SGM or others..

Anyone has had a look at these?

Any updates for a possible cheaper solution?
