Dead MK1, possible head gasket, what next?

My MK1 N reg clio has died a death, well the head gasket has gone on it and I have another car at the moment.

What would be the best way of getting rid of it? Can't sell parts off as its parked on street but it has MOT and Tax up in Feb. Whats the scrap value on these type of things or is it good for Ebay as spares and repair?

fix the headgasket, provided it wasnt run for too long with kippered gasket can just swap the gakset itself, headbolts and cambelt. did that on my old polo, was fine

Problem was it overheated on motorway and I think I've buggered it up. To be honest I have no chance of fixing it now, the cars out on road with no space to work and with Uni starting next week I couldn't even attempt to fix it with my Dad and the garages will charge a fair penny.

What sort of price would someone buy it without headgasket?

Sounds good to me. I won't sell it with the alloys though as I guess I can get a bit more for these seperate.

Talking about the alloys I take it? To be honest I'd be happy with £100-£150, just to get it out the way then sell the alloys to my mate or something.

Looks like a nice motor tbh, wouldn't take much to change the gasket for some users on here and sell on..

It won't be avaliable until after Sunday when my Dad brings the old wheels up anyway.

Just to let you know this is now avaliable with original wheels on it (two had new tyres at front!).

Versailles trim, 1.2 engine, N reg, 115K on clock nearly. No power steering or airbag.

Smoked side repeaters, fairly new clutch, handbrake adjusted, back lights just replaced, new oil filter and oil top up, 3/4 tank of fuel, rear wiring and replacement dash speakers, tax expires end of month, MOT in Feb, full paperwork and previous receipts/invoices.

No radio, if you want the CD/MP3/SD player though it'll cost £15 more.

£80

I just paid £150 for a mint MK1 ph3 1.2 with a cambelt failure so head has to come off etc, someone will buy it, looks tidy!

Its not in that condition now, will need cleaning up and stuff, been sitting there for around two months and doesn't have the alloys on it!

But yes otherwise it's been a good motor, I just need someone to pick it up!

Just paid £200 for a mint ph3 1149cc MPi with 2 rusty sills. Got 2 complete sills to go on. Even has alloys and cd player! party on Dave! :lol:

Yeah will do, it's just dirty, engine needs a clean and inside really. Hopefully be tomorrow when I'm not at work and theres some daylight to do it in!
