Dash Mounted CD/Radio

I am seeking any information on an alternative unit for the standard dash mounted cd/radio. This cd/radio unit Renault Part No. 8200 269 038 is no longer available and there is not an alternative unit listed by Renault. Has anyone installed a different make/model and if so does it fully integrate with the remote controls and 6 disc autochanger? Any information or advice would be appreciated.

I have an Alpine unit and with some extra cables it works with the standard controls and dashboard display.

Some information in this old post LINK

I have an original Ph1 radio unit and cd changer.

I also have a fancy-pants aftermarket Alpine system (i-pod etc) with under-seat sub that came with the car. All wiring is there as well. I also have the fascia surround for the ph1 so it would literally be plug and play. If you source a ph2 fascia surround this system could also easily be fitted to a ph2.

All of these items are surplus to requirements.

I just threw mine away a while ago. Basically every single DIN after market radio fits. Remote control shouldn't be a problem whereas full display integration could become one. About the disc changer I can't tell you because I only ever used it as disc storage. I went for a USB capable device with front AUX and behind-the-front-panel SD slot. So I use the SD-card for my own music without a USB device sticking in the front but still have for example Iphone compatibility via USB or can hook up any music source via AUX if I want to listen to something else like the passenger's music.
After all I have to say I don't miss anything else: Radio (I still have but) I never listen to, CD is too small in capacity and too big in size, disc changer couldn't read CD-RW and had to leave because of bucket seats anyway, remote control is to far away after I changed the wheel and the display well when I'm playing my music collection I don't need a display to name me the songs and In case I still have a display on the radio. On top of all this I got better sound quality and it's by far cheaper then the OEM stuff.

I have a bog standard as fitted to mk 2 vee's tuner list single cd head unit complete with code if interested? £30 including postage and it's yours mate.

Post on here if interested as I am only on iPhone (abroad) and can't get to private messages.

Hi phillv6, I think I may have hopefully sent you a private message re this unit but just in case I did not, I am not sure it has been sent as it still shows in my out box, I am definitely interested in the unit if you still have it.

Regards
