Croft May 5th, TR group deal.

There's already been some interest on this event on another thread so I thought I'd see if we could get a proper gathering together

We are running a trackday at Croft on May 5th, it's open pit lane, free instruction available and limited numbers to ensure there's plenty of track time up for grabs.

Cost for the day is £175 which is about as cheap as Croft gets for a noisy day but as it looks like there's a good group of drivers on here we'll throw in an extra deal ;).

If you book a place put "TurboRenault" in the comments box and if we get ten bookings from the forum we'll refund one place! We can draw a name out of the hat in advance or on the day - whatever you guys prefer and one lucky punter will get his £175 back! I don't know how many regular trackdayers there are on here but if we do get 20 bookings there will be two places given away etc :).

For any of you that haven't been to Croft yet it's one circuit you have to tick the box on, it's got a great retro feel to it and some superb corners that really flow, a great track and well worth the trip. This trackday is on straight after the bank holiday weekend so it's set perfectly if you want to do an overnighter at one of the local Pubs/hotels/B&Bs that are within easy reach of the track.

We've already got one TRer signed up and others interested so shout up if you'd like to join us.

Gutted I only live down the road as well. I'd have come to this but don't get back home till the 7th. Would have been a great incentive to get the mods done and use it as a bit of a test day. Next time!!!!!

Never had a chance to post up some photos til now! What a great day that was, pissing down with rain but still had a good time in the S70. Even had Adam Morgan sat in the passenger seat for 30 mins giving me tips on how to go quickly in the wet! Well worth it

Arrived at 08:00 on the day, parked up & signed on....is that S70 small or just far away....

Quite a cross-section of cars (only 1 volvo though)...the guys in the Lotus 7 inspired motors must have been pretty tough..

It brightened up later and could just sneak into triple figures - this is rapidly heading towards Clervaux:

All in all a great day! Highly recommended, even in a Volvo :)

Looks like you could describe that session as mildy moist !

Indeed - look at my poor little moist face:

Didn't spoil it though, I really enjoyed it & glad I took the Volvo as didn't really give a toss if I bumped it....although I do like it, it's cheaper to fix and less accident prone in the wet than the T2. And waterproof of course!

Thanks for that writeup Jamesy, it was a bit moist in the morning and the black 7 in the photo is mine so I did get pretty wet but it's great fun driving in those conditions, bit of a handful though as I've got well over 300 brake in that thing :help.gif: .

We were really pleased by how the day ran, a few red flags were probably inevitable in the conditions but we had pretty much no queuing all day so everyone got plenty of track time I think.

Glad to see you had some tuition off Adam as well, he copped a third and his first win in the BTCC at Thruxton the following weekend so you must have given him some ideas of how to pick up his pace :friends.gif:.

Anyhoo, the plan is to run a couple more events towards the end of the season so I'll get some info up when we are all confirmed and hopefully we can get some numbers along!

I'm always game for track time if I can make myself free on the day!

How do Steve, it was nice to meet you on the day! I guessed that was yours hence the photo...looks like great fun!

Glad to hear Adam is doing well after my 'tuition'..........."well you see Adam, it's like this - WOT, wait a bit, wait for it, hold on....BOOOOST...shit here comes a corner..." & repeat. He was probably just happy to drive a car quickly after being in mine :)

I'll be looking forward to attending another event so yes pls post up the next ones.
