Coming back to the V6 team

Hi everyone, I am looking to purchase a Clio V6 MKII again, I used to own a black/gold back in 2010 and I still feel the love for these cars.

I have viewed a Mars red numbered 77 (from what I remember) with 30k on the clock. They are looking for circa 29k for it and the all important timing belt and water pump were changed by Renault in late 2016.

Does anyone know the car? And does it have any potential issues? Is this a fair price?

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul, welcome back, nice to see a returning owner.

Know of [v6plaque]77[/v6plaque], the potential issue is rust as it has spent the last 2-3 years sat stationary in a field. Will need a very close looking at underneath and in the hard to see areas to make sure its ok.

It had a major detailing before being put up for sale so its pretty on the outside, but the inside could potentially be rotting away. Heres some under bonnet pictures which give an idea, but its the engine bay area and under the bodywork that I would be nervous about:

Yes rejoined James - too much valuable info to not take into account. Thanks guys :) . Yes this does not fill me with confidence. May have to wait for a better buy.

Any recommendations on good MKII's available will be greatly appreciated. Hopefully then be able to go to Silverstone in it, though unfortunately too late to join the stand.

Hi Paul, the same people have a Titanium for sale as well, did you look at this one when you were there, or has that been sold?

As per the post above, Titanium [v6plaque]227[/v6plaque] seems like a good buy. This Vee has been for sale since October 2016, but the price appears to have been adjusted - the cam/aux belt + water pump change appears to be overdue. Previous discussions here: Low Mileage Titanium no 227, New V6 mk11 Owner & ph2 227 Titanium for sale for £35k

Good luck with your search, and if you do find one in time, there is chance that you will be able to have the Vee on our display stand at Silverstone Classic, which would be really great: See here
