Cold start help needed please

Hi Guys
sorry back with another small problem.

When the car is left over night and especially for more than a few days it struggles to fire up. The engine turns over fine and the battery is fine as i had this checked it just wont catch unless you blip the throttle while turning the key and then it starts fine.
This only happens on the first start of the day I.E. its the only time you need to give some throttle while turning the key.
All other times once its been on, it fires up on the key perfectly with no throttle required, just turn the key and it fires up first time every time.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this, the plugs & coils are all new and the car runs faultlessly.
Its not a major issue but a little annoying.
Was thinking maybe a new fuel filter would be the solution but then why would it start fine after the first time....?
Any help as usual is much appreciated.

thanks

If the battery is over 5 years old...
...replace it. That's a sensible place to start. (Ignore what any battery gauge / multimeter says)
If all's not well thereafter, PM Spike about his fuel pump conversion. This sounds like a must for any V6 affectionado!
Beyond that I'd be think about replacement spark plugs and fuel filters if the service schedule was lacking.

Hope that helps! : )

Hi

Thanks for the reply, i have replaced the spark plugs so all good on that front, i will look at the battery and determine how old it is but that sounds like good advice.
I will also replace the fuel filters as they are cheap and supposed to be easy to replace.
Regarding the fuel pump lets hope i dont have to go that far as from what i have read that is a mamouth job.
Thanks for your help..
Anyone else had a similar problem?

Probably a bit late now but try the cold start sensor on the engine, sounds just like the fault it would give if it were to fail, if not that the temp sensor, both are a bugger to get to BTW.
