Coils

Just a quick one, are any particular brands of coils any more reliable than others? Just looking to buy a couple of spares, and prices vary a fair bit.

I believe trophy coils are better than all? :)

This.

Sure it's around 180 quid for a full trophy set. Need to drill and tap the second hole though I believe?
not necessary to drill for second hole as there is no load particularly, trophy coils by all accounts are best though once fitted :approve:

If you look at your engine you'll see that one hole it tapped, and used to secure the coil. The trophy ones look more beefy and have two holes where you bolt them. The second hole on the vee is not tapped out. I guess it depends how secure you want the coil to be. One is probably enough.

They are 20€ each so it's probably less than 180 quid a set. One bold is enough for sure but you want to have two when there are two holes right? :) The second whole is drilled but not tapped. You might also want to use a little bit longer bolts as the trophy coils are a little bit thicker. The more difficult part is to replace the connectors which requires either some soldering or crimping whereas I'd recommend the latter. Usually you don't get them for free either. If you are interested in this conversion, do some searching and find Dulan's thread.
