Coils, Coils, Coils

Had to change my first coil on Tuesday, back to normal now! This might be a stupid question let me know if it is!!!!!!
Can the coils can be repaired, or is it a throw in the bin job? Or has anyone put one back in that was previously broken and it has worked?

It's a bin it job [smilie=badpc.gif] afterall they are only £29 or so, best keep a spare as well for when the next one goes :wink:

What is it that actually goes in an ignition coil?

Stuff which transforms the battery's 12 volts to the thousands of volts needed to spark the spark plugs.
