Hi all
Unfortunately my V6 255 does not get used as much as it should and has covered less than 2,000 miles in the last two years. I always keep it taxed and MOT'd so I can go for a blast anytime of the year if its nice.
Over the last year I have noticed that occasionally the clutch biting point is really low down and if you're not ready for it the car would jump into a stall. The clutch pedal also sticks about halfway up. You have to release it with your toe.
On one occasion too I had my foot flat on the floor with the clutch but the clutch hadn't disengaged the gear and tried to jump forward. As I had my foot firmly on the brake the car eventually stalled but it could have been dangerous if wet or icy. This has only happened once.
The problem with the biting point being low down and the pedal sticking does not happen each time I drive the car which is the strange thing.
Its a 2003 255 (No 003) with approx 30,000 miles. Its had its first cambelt change and nearly due its second.
I was hoping it could just be the clutch fluid needs replacing?
Anybody got any ideas what this could be?
Thanks.
