Classic Clutch pedal R21t

There is a high degree like mine, that most of the Ph1 clutch pedals are worn on the master cylinder rod connection pin, so I had a good look to see what can be done. I am fortunate that the hole in the rod hasn’t gone oval and remains reasonably round.
The first step is obviously to remove the pedal which can be a pain if you don’t have the assister spring retaining tool but it is possible.
Next is to cut off the worn pin flush with the raised section & file flat.

Centre punch the cross pin and drill a 4mm hole to depth 25mm then a 6.5mm hole to the same depth.
Thread the hole with a M8 x 1.25 tap to approx 22mm

Get a 40mm stud with 20mm thread length on one end & 10mm on the other and using high strength thread lock screw the stud in to the threaded hole & allow to set.

At this point you can have a couple of options as to the way the rod can be retained.
Option “A” is to cross drill the stud & trim to length to replicate the OE fixing
Option “B” is use a C clip on the threads
Option “C” is to use a slim M8 nylock.
Whichever way you chose you should get a few more years of use.
It is also possible to use this method to adapt the later Ph3 pedals which may have the “Snap” pedal connection when the Ph1 conversion is done and if a non standard cylinder is used with its own push rod a M8 Ball & socket is possible.
