Clio Clio V6 Trophy 53

So this is my other Renault at the moment...bought from Denmark early 2018. As soon as I saw it and heard it, it was game over. I had set out to buy a Megane V6 Trophy but couldn't justify the price of them! One day :)

It's been living with Mark Fish Motorsport since it came to the UK (over 12 months now). Mark's serviced it and will be doing some other bits to get it useable, the ultimate plan is track day then road register it and bring it to Sweden.

It started out in Denmark racing, then went to Germany where it raced in an endurance series before going to Sweden and then back to Denmark where it sat in the last owners garage for 10 years! Before it left the track, it had all the updates done to phase 2, composite doors, composite boot, Ohlins race dampers, fully rosejointed and remapped to supposedly 320hp.

I'm no expert on these, all I know is the Trophy came first and was purely built for racing. It might look like the road car but they share almost nothing in common.

Mine has a secondary ecu that might account for the tuning up, the engine is a stock Trophy lump, not sure what cams etc differ over the road car?

I really need to get it finished, never even driven it apart from on a rolling road!

In reality totally different engines on the periphery, one of the main problems is not getting the power but transmitting it. Phase 1 are 230 and phase 2 after a bit of breathing on by Porsche upped to 255. The gearbox used is out of a Trafic van and once it gets over about 300bhp it cries enough, stick an lsd in and you have no safety valve any more so it soon pops!! The Trophy has a Sadev sequential box which easily handles the power but has to be stripped and rebuilt regularly at vast cost! The Vee lump can be super charged or turboed to get loony power quite easily but transmission has to be dealt with, one well known V6net member has gone to great lengths to up the power including Audi engines and boxes and is now on with a Nissan box and 3.5 litre v6, another has installed a Subaru engine and box! I personally thought about a Tesla 450bhp unit with 150 upgrade and a big speaker in the back!! (and possibly a 300 unit in the front to give 900 bhp 4wd!)

Sounds like fun! To me though I think cars like that should remain as they were intended :) I'm starting to wonder if I'll keep the Trophy, I think I'd be happier having a few other cars to play with instead.
