Clio Clio Sport 172, ph2

Winner, what tyres are you going for ?? Did you notice that the van doesnt do much low down and a massive kick at the top. I reckon timing is miles out:D

TBH I just ragged the sh*t out of it ;), but wasn't the best in 2nd gear...

I am going with Uniroyal Rainsports 3, have them on the mini and the grip is decent, impressively given the price... they wear fast, but that dont bother me for the ££... and grip in the wet is fantastic...ideal for a ring trek.

It's coming along nicely...
Engine runs perfectly now.

DS2500 fitted, cup suspension and cooksports fitted, K-Tec engine & gearbox mount fitted as well as the OMP steering wheel fit.

Am in need of a new abs ring as 1 is cracked, abs wire mount, an uprated exhaust mount and finally an inner CV boot to replaced....

Should be a fun car for the Ring in October :)

I get the Clio back this weekend, can't wait.
Fitted for the ring trip are
Genuine cambelt
Genuine aux belt
Genuine genuine dephaser
Genuine coolant
Genuine oil and filtwr
MTS gearbox oil
Passenger side abs ring
driver side driveshaft
Genuine cup shocks all round
Cooksport springs
DS2500 pads
Uprated exhaust mounts
K-Tec upper engine mount
K-Tec gearbox mount
Phatty induction kit
marcR battery cover
2x Uniroyal rainsport3 tyres

Far from being a cheap round around now, but as I have had the car 18 months nearly it's about time I spent some pennies :).

Sounds awesome with the exhaust and induction kit, may invest the RS tuner 98 map for it... After that I should be happy with its handling, stopping and performance.

Car has not played ball so far this weekend, New shaft in, block ground down. Took the NS shaft out, outer boot had a tiny split in it. Shaft fell out and gear oil everywhere! Luckily the shaft that was changed had a good outer boot on it, so took it apart and fitted it to the NS. One of the captive nuts for the rear exhaust mount snapped too! All sorted now though.

Abs brackets and abs ring on, oil and filter draining at the moment, new gear oil in. Exhaust mounts on.

My steering wheel cruise control bracket don't fit with my steering wheel, so fitted the wheel without cruise control bracket...may make one up, or just not have cruise control.

On a plus note, it's got a 182 box in it with the covered circlip :)received_10155762194084744.webp received_10155762193889744.webp received_10155762193774744.webp received_10155762339054744.webp

Had a couple spare hours today, gave the Clio a quick wash, clayed, washed, machine polished - quick pass over more than anything with no tape etc, panel wiped and one coat of wax.... Will do another layer of wax the week before the ring trip
I didn't bother to much with the bonnet and bumper as they are to far gone to attempt to clean up :(
