Clio Clio Sport 172, ph2

Also, if budget is key it might be worth investing in 15" wheels where the tyres are easier to buy and cheaper. Maybe either sell the 16s to offset the cost of 15s or use the 16s to get to and from tracks to swap over to 15s.

Really should get the MOT done before I spend more haha.

Brakes are next tho, braided lines, disc Nd pads and fluids... Rears look ok and hardly do anything so will just upgrade the fronts :)

Need to make some brake cooling ducts up and I will be loosing the front fogs anyway..

On the hunt for some 2118s... Tyres are much cheaper :)

Had a strange thought last night around 3am... Should I keep the clio standard... Refurb the wheel, repair the front bumper, clean the whole car up to a high standard and keep it standard, refurb the alloys etc, make it looks very clean/mint...

I would certainly get more use out of it as a standard car than I would a dedicated track / country lane car...

It's a tempting choice..

go half way house tidy daily track toy? tbh i know it sounds bad but its a cheap cat d clio, they are 10 a penny so not sure how much value you would be adding to it by making it mint, and we know you would just be selling it on at a later date anyway lol

Shoppers, what do you want to do with? Trackday car or mint? Make the decision and go for it, you had the idea initially of going for a cheap trackday so go for that. Have some fun in it, Blyton in July, book a trackday at Brands and I'll come too, and do other things with it.

Like Adey says they're really not worth a great deal, especially now with the category mark attached to it. It's worth more in spares, at least if it was track based you could have your fun in it throughout this summer, meet up with friends along the way, then break it selling the track parts.

Yeh I know what you mean...

I would still update suspension, brakes, etc... Just not sure about stripping the interior and fitting cage/buckets...

As for selling it, my attitude atm, it's cost me less than a grand... Not worth selling really..

Fit bucket seats that bolt into the original positions, keep the front seats, remove the rears. When you're done with it just fit the OE interior back in then flog the buckets..... Done.

Rs tuner purchased... Have done well considering I am away in France on holiday :)

Had a day in monte carlo today, they had historic cars out on track and needed tickets to spectate, no issue as went there for the aquarium (well worth a visit if your near by) IMG_20160513_122804.webp IMG_20160513_114512.webp

Come home this evening, to a nice surprise... Before going on holiday I sent 2 letters of to 2 old credit card company complaining about having unsuitable ppi (self employed)...

I weren't to sure even if I had ppi or not, I have never had a bank loan/car finance in the past or anything, just 2 small credit cards which I have long since closed off...

Anyway, 1st letter from barclaycard saying g although I had ppi, I had cancelled it within 31 days therefore didn't pay anything.. So nothing back..

2nd letter from capital one.. Saying yes ppi was on the account.. After all deductions.. I will receive a cheque in the next week for £250... Well that's the bucket seats almost paid for.. Win.

If you guys have any old loans, credit cards, mortgages in the past... It's really worth sending a templated letter from Google and add some minor info and sending them off to the relevant companies... No need to call anyone, just send a letter to the bank and await a response...

So simples... Cost 2 letters and 2 stamps and I got back £250...Happy days.

Rs tuner turned up today, as did harnesses,... Also looks like I am getting a rear cage...

Brembo disc ordered, gearbox (Dogbone) mount ordered, Oh and @Adey has sorted me out some braided brake lines...

Not sure what pads to get yet...
