Clio Clio 172 won't turn over

Picture the scene.
I get to see the car for 10 mins at a time maybe once a week.
2 weeks ago I connect the battery and it runs for a couple of seconds then does (normal for this car).
Start it again and same again.
Go to start it a third time. Nothing at all.
Cit to the next week. I put power to it from another thinking it just needs a helping hand. Nothing.
I notice the key won't lock the car anymore. So I put another battery in the key and try again this week.
Nothing still.
Where do I start without taking the thing to bits.
I believe the key is working and the immobilizer is doing its job.
I've given the starter the tiniest of taps as I can barely reach it.
Cover is off the starter now.
Tried beat the relays into life and still nothing.

Car is on a steep hill. The wrong way so I can't really try to bump it without towing it out now.
Where am I looking first. Need the car to work if it is to have any value to me atall.
Cheers all

I sometimes have mine not want to start.

I simply take the negative terminal off and leave it off for 10 minutes. Put it back on and up to now it has always started first time. Don’t ask me how or why but it works for me.

The negative terminal has been on and off a few times throughout this. Still nothing.
However I'm now wondering if I could hear the fuel pump prime or not

Pull the injectors complete with rail, they are clipped into the rail so you can crank it with the rail/injectors sitting out on the engine. You'll see if theres fuel delivery then. Just remember its atomised fuel and highly flammable so dont keep it cranking over long or youll blow yourself up :)

Good idea.
I'll get to the car sometime next weekend I imagine and have another go.
It was under a cover and I'm wondering if corrosion has just got to the big plug or the relays. I'm going to jump all 3 relays and see what happens aswell

The key is recognised with solid immob light but no communication between uch/ecu giving non start.

At a guess its a wiring issue near the white plug in the engine loom giving issues, check the can wiring in that area. Wouldnt bother pulling injectors out to test etc, id start testing the wiring for continuity.

Most likely corroded wiring. My old kangoo had the same issue after being sat on my mates drive for years, wiring had suffered. Usually pretty easy fix though

Success!
After pulling it all out and spraying everything with contact cleaner as it was all green, I think fuse 1 is my issue.
If I wiggle the wire behind it it cuts all the power. So a thorough clean is needed.

It's currently running and warming up for the first time in over a year I think. Not confident on it having much fuel though as its also on a slope

Nice easy fix. I had similar issues with fuse 1 for injection, mine had a poor connection and melted the corner of the fusebox. I ended up bypassing it with an inline fuse holder.
